This is probably the greatest addition to the game as the series has never featured a single-player mode. Remedy Studios has been tight-lipped about its plans for single-player content. So far the campaign for CrossfireX is shrouded in mystery. The most interesting thing about Crossfire is that it will likely be the first free multiplayer shooter for next-gen consoles. Crossfire has its own unique style as a franchise but, shares quite a bit in common with another popular franchise Counter Strike. Players will engage in combat in a wide variety of modes all of which offer fast-paced shooting action.

The single-player experience with be developed by Remedy. This will be one of the few games where the multiplayer experience and the single-player experience are developed separately. The game will be published by Xbox Game Studios for Xbox consoles exclusively. This is the original studio behind the game. CrossfireX is being developed by Smilegate Entertainment.
